To create a physical, psychological and spiritual learning environment in which students are able to master the skills necessary to think independently.
To find one’s purpose means being a gatekeeper of the Legacy. This centralized focus on “purpose” results in the expansion of great minds, the development of master consciousness and concludes in divine accomplishments. Scholarly geniuses at MACADEMY are challenged to fulfill their purpose rather than obtaining education for profession. Students at MACADEMY are also prepared to identify their purpose. They are empowered and encouraged on how to assess their worth and connect that to their contributions and accomplishments for the advance future of humanity. To be driven by “purpose” claims spiritual awareness, which means knowing the purpose to which one is called. Many of the world’s greatest leaders whose contributions and achievements are known in the global community are or were driven by their “purpose”. A purpose driven education is a wise choice.
At MACADEMY, the belief is that education is only truly successful if it transcends time. In essence, schools have to be able to grow with the students and transform to facilitate the needs of the children. We teach our students how to learn. If you are capable of learning, there is nothing you can not achieve.
As of fall 2006, MACADEMY is an official New York State testing site. We facilitate and administer Board of Education required examinations for our students. MACADEMY also prepares students to take the SHSAT Exam for Specialized High Schools, ISEE Exam for Independent Schools, and SSAT Exam for Secondary Schools and to predict the range for Grade 12 SAT R Scores.
The mission of the reading and language arts program is to promote reading, writing, listening, and speaking as the cornerstone for success in school, for professional accomplishment, and for personal fulfillment as a life-long literacy learner. The mission of the Writing program is to help each student to produce original pieces of expository and imaginative writing which assist students to gain experience using grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. Students are encouraged to express themselves comfortably and legibly through essay writing, poetry, research papers, letters, resumes, etc.
The mission of the mathematics program is to promote the learning of mathematics by all students through a curriculum that is coherent and comprehensive. The instructional program will enable all students to understand and use mathematics in an increasingly technological world.
The mission of the science program is the pursuit of knowledge about the world in which we live. Through the process of observation, we take in information about our world. Through continuous and systematic observation, we begin to hypothesize about and classify observed phenomena so that we may better understand our universe. Students are encouraged to be inventors and to focus on innovative, scientific and technological ideas that propels them to their future as scientists and technology experts. Our annual Science Fair at MACADEMY advocates such a purpose for our young scientists to present their ideas and begin their journey in their scientific fields.
The mission of the World History program is to connect the knowledge, skills, strategies, and vocabulary from the disciplines of science, political science, geography, and environment in the context of a larger Overarching Concept.
Moral development is also a primary objective at MACADEMY. Students are exposed to the topics and techniques of decision making, conflict resolution and accountability. Students are taught to give their best because of our emphasis on good manners, diligence, respect, self-discipline, integrity and compassion.
Staff and parents have worked together to create and maintain a very high expectation for students’ behavior. No sexist, racist or bullying behavior is tolerated. Student feels safe and protected. There is no easy access to strangers. The environment is clean and the playground equipment meets safety codes. At MACADEMY staff work dilligently with students to help them follow guidelines.
We have Teachers who make MACADEMY truly special. We understand that the core of any great school must include the teaching faculty. Having a high standard, pursuing excellence, exhibiting concern for each student, and maintaining the highest level of student engagement are just some of the numerous goals that comprise our first class faculty. Staff members are encouraged to continue their development as professionals in the field of education. At MACADEMY, we work diligently to fulfill this motto: "the best teacher is one who makes you want to learn".
MACADEMY School of Science and Technology is an investment in the Advancement of Our Humanity, for Posterity.
Our pedagogical skills allow us to teach our pre-school, elementary, and middle school students in a “classroom without borders". It is an experience on their academic journey that takes students joyfully beyond the intellectual, artistic, and practical skills to spiritual enrichment and morality in preparation for their life skills and longevity. Our teaching strategies and skills are enveloped in the core academic, social, and emotional competencies, learning that teaches empathy, perseverance, cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, and self-control. The academic skills and behavior are explicitly taught, assessed, and interwoven into all learning areas.
During their tenure, our students are challenged, encouraged and prepared to integrate holistic life skills to advance academically, beyond their grade levels, at their own pace.
After experiencing this enriching Prekindergarten to 8th grade education, MACADEMY students are accepted into public/charter high schools, independent, specialized, and Catholic high schools, and subsequently colleges and universities.
